Cromane 2-13 Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-13

Glenbeigh/Glencar 2-11 Skellig/Valentia 4-12.

Our minor team were at home to Skellig/Valentia on Saturday, again Glenbeigh/Glencar were without the services of four influential players.Glenbeigh/Glencar had some very young players in Joesph Murphy, Michael O’Sullivan & Michael Griffin lining out for them, however they didn’t look out of place all putting fine performances. The team performed well but goals a crucial times by Skellig/Valentia proved too be their undoing.

Final score Glenbeigh/Glencar 2-11 Skellig/Valentia 4-12.

Team: Donal O’Neil, Joseph Murphy, Daniel O’Connor, Tommy Cahill, Connor Blunt, Shane Riordan, Jack Brosnan, Daniel Griffin, Eoin McGillycuddy, Calim Teahan, Michael O’Sullivan

Subs: Michael Griffin

Cromane 2-11   Glenbeigh/Glencar 2-10.

Our minors were in action against Cromane in Rd 1 of the county league in Cromane.

A poor first half performance saw Cromane taking a 9 pt lead at half time, a much improved second half display saw Glenbeigh/Glencar claw back to narrow the deficit to a solitary point. Unfortunately time went against them and they ended up losing on a score line of Cromane 2-11   Glenbeigh/Glencar 2-10. Glenbeigh/Glencar were missing influential players Charlie O’Sullivan, Calvin Teahan and Daniel Griffin through injury, these players are sure to make a big difference when they are back.

Team: Donal O’Neil, Joseph Murphy, Daniel O’Connor, Tommy Cahill, Darra Fitzgerald, Connor Blunt, Shane Riordan, Jack Brosnan, Eoin McGillycuddy, Calim Teahan, Pa O’Grady. Subs: Michael O’Sullivan for Dara Fitzgerald.

Mid-Kerry League Rd 1 2012

Beaufort 0-10 v Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane 1-15

Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane played their first game together in the opening round of the Mid-Kerry league, the two clubs joined together as neither club could field a full team on their own. The close neighbours however produced some scintillating football and looked like they had been playing together for years. This was a great team performance with everyone involved giving their all however there were three outstanding performances by Brendan Foley, Mikey Houlihan and Sean Roche. With more players to come into the fold the team can become a major threat and maybe cause a big upset in Mid-Kerry!!!!

Team: Dean Finn, Daniel O’Connor, Connor McKenna, Garry Griffin, Brendan Foley, Mike Houlihan, Connor
